“Put your finger on your nose,

blink your eyes…

they’re all around,

there are fairies to be found!”

When I was a small person, I used to crawl around and talk to the fairies in our yard. My hair drug the ground as I slunk along with my nose in the grass mumbling under my breath and whispering whole fairy conversations.

One day, the neighbors went to have a talk with my mom about how fairies were pretend, not wanting to alarm her but to make her “aware of the situation”. My mother, being amazing and perfect for an eccentric child to grow up with, told them I was just fine and if they didn’t talk to fairies maybe they had the problem.

All too soon I grew up to have children of my own. I realized that the world would slowly and insidiously try to steal the magic and the fairies from them that I had so carefully cultivated and I was determined to do something about it.

Since then, I have sought to bring the wyld to those around me by connecting them to the fairies with talks, writing, traveling, and sharing.

I started out with creating wings, and wands, and then built a website for them. Then I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to travel full-time so my kids and I took the show on the road, talking about fairies and selling fairy wings all over the western US. We still sell our fairy wings and bubble wands locally and through our store, here.

Then, in 2008, we found a place so incredible and lovely that we couldn’t imagine traveling any more and we stopped and stayed where the fairies live wyld and good folke run rampant.

In 2009, I felt the pull to work with more diligence on my fairy writing and more importantly, to give it away.

I felt that there was so much hurt, anger, and fear in the world that there was a gaping need for wyld memories, for fairies. I write these articles and posts and give them to you here, and here, and here and all over this site in the hope that it reaches inside you and lights that flame, or fans the one you already nurture. To me, this is how I give back to the wyld which has been such a gift in my life, how I feed my heart by giving it away, this is why I am here.

This blog then is the result of my belief that magic (and therefore fairies) can be fleeting and it must be chosen and willfully held onto no matter the cost.

I am blessed to live in one of the most beautiful magical woodlands on Earth and hope that I bring some of that here, to these pages.

Fairies Fae is not a portal to flower fairies or other of the softer imagery but rather a Way into Wyld. A trailing journey through the woode in which They walk.
